Yeshayahu/Isaiah Chapter 20: A prophecy of the fall of Egypt and Kush

Chapter 20: a prophecy of the fall of Egypt and Kush

  • During the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, he waged war with Ashdod and captured it.
  • At that time, Yeshaya said a prophecy of G-d.
  • G-d told him to remove his sackcloth and shoes, and so he did go naked and barefoot. G-d said that this will be a sign and omen for Egypt and Kush, that my servant Yeshayah will walk naked and barefoot.
  • The king of Assyria will lead captives from Egypt and Kush. He will lead both the youth and old men who are naked and barefoot.
