Shehechiyanu during Sefirah

Shehechiyanu:

It is permitted to recite Shehechiyanu during Sefirah.[1] Nevertheless, many are accustomed to avoid saying Shehechiyanu throughout the entire weekday period of Sefirah, from after Pesach until Erev Shavuos.[2] Practically, so is the Chabad custom.[3] Those which are accustomed to say Shehechiyanu throughout Sefirah may continue to do so without hesitation.[4]

 

May one recite Shehechiyanu on Shabbos?

Yes. On Shabbos, even those that are accustomed to avoid reciting Shehechiyanu during Sefirah, may do so[5], and so is the Chabad custom.[6] However some Poskim[7] write that one is to avoid reciting Shehechiyanu even on Shabbos.

 

May one recite Shehechiyanu on Lag BaOmer?

Yes. On Lag BaOmer even those that are accustomed to avoid reciting Shehechiyanu during Sefirah may do so[8], and so is the Chabad custom.[9]

 

May those that are stringent recite Shehechiyanu during Chol Hamoed Pesach?[10]

Yes.

 

May one eat a Shehechiyanu fruit during Sefirah?

Those that are accustomed to avoid saying Shehechiyanu are to avoid doing so, with exception to Shabbos.

 

May one say Shehechiyanu by a Pidyon Haben?

The father may say Shehechiyanu by a Pidyon Haben.[11]
