Yes. The Rebbe spoke very painfully in 1984 of the fact that no farbrengen was held Friday night that year, and asked for this mistake to not be repeated. The Rebbe stated that there should have been a very excited and vibrant prayer of Kabalas Shabbos which would then be followed by a very strong Farbrengen.

Night Kiddush: Only if his wife or young children do not know how to say Kiddush themselves. Or, one’s wife cannot drink wine or grape juice. Otherwise, he may not make the Kiddush for them and they are to do so themselves.
