Saying the blessing of Shechiyanu upon purchasing expensive items

Is the blessing of Shechiyanu recited upon purchasing expensive items?[1]

The blessing of Shechiyanu on new items is only recited upon purchasing important clothing, or a home. However, it is not customary to recite it upon purchasing objects, including when one purchases [expensive objects such as] vessels made of gold and silver.[2] It is not recited, neither by the time of purchase nor by the time of its [first] use.  Practically, this is the main opinion that one should follow.

Sefarim:[3] The blessing of Shehechiyanu is not recited upon purchasing Sefarim.[4]

A home:[5] One who built or purchased[6] a new home is to say the blessing of Shehechiyanu. [Nevertheless, the widespread custom amongst many today is not to say it.[7]]

[2] The reason: As these objects do not truly appear from time to time, and rather one purchases them one time for a lifetime. [See Tosafus ibid; M”A ibid]

Other opinions of Admur and other Poskim: In Luach 21/15 Admur rules a blessing is recited upon purchasing new Sefarim which are of importance and gives one joy, as although Mitzvos were not given for pleasure purposes, nevertheless one does receive pleasure when buying the object of the Mitzvah.
