From the Rav’s Desk: By the Onah Beinonis, when is the ideal time during the day to perform the Bedika?

  1. Question: [Wednesday, 2nd Iyar 5781]

By the Onah Beinonis, when is the ideal time during the day to perform the Bedika?

Answer:

By the Beinonis she should do one bedika before sunset towards the end of the day of the Oneh Beinonis, and at the very least any time in the day after the time that she originally saw her period, and if not too difficult, she should also do a second Bedika after nightfall, after the Onah Beinonis.

Sources: See Admur 189:4 who states “she must check herself at the time of the veses or afterwards on the day of that Ona”; Taharah Kehalacha 24/17 footnote 35 and Biurim 1; Kaneh Bosem 1/62; Koveitz Zalman Shimon p. 37 that she [only] needs one Bedika at end of day.
