Placing Mezuzah by the entrance to a hallway

Placing Mezuzah by a hallway corridor

Am I required to place a Mezuzah by the entrance to my hallway which does not have a door? The hallway leads to two-bedrooms and is narrow and does not serve any other purpose other than to lead to the bedrooms.

Answer:

If the hallway maintains a Tzuras Hapesach, such as a distinct doorpost placed by its entrance, then it is obligated to have a Mezuzah placed without a blessing. This applies even if the hallway is not 4 x 4 Amos, being that it leads to rooms which are living quarters that are obligated in Mezuzah. If however, the hallway does not have a distinct doorpost, then the end of the walls and ceiling do not qualify as a Tzuras Hapesach and hence no Mezuzah is needed.
