May one read a wedding or Bar Mitzvah invitation on Shabbos?[1]

It is permitted to distribute an invitation on Shabbos. However, some Poskim[2] rule that if the invitation is sealed closed it is Muktzah, and even if not, one may not distribute it if he will see the people during week.[3]

[3] Vetzaruch Iyun as a) There is no Issur of Tircha on Shabbos when a person will benefit from it on Shabbos and it can read it on Shabbos. B) One may ask a gentile to open it and hence why should it be Muktzah.

One is not to take mail from the mailman, but is rather to have him put it down, in order so one not come to take any part in the gentile’s act of carrying.

He is also a certified Shochet, and has performed Hashgacha work in slaughterhouses.
