On Rosh Chodesh when we Daven Musaf after removing the tefillin, most people that I have seen do not place the sleeve of their jacket that was removed for the sake of the tefillin back onto their arm, even though we never usually Daven this way when we are not wearing Tefillin. Is this a proper way to Daven Musaf being that nobody would really stand in front of the king in this way? Should people therefore be taught to put their sleeve back onto their arm prior to starting Musaf?
Answer:
While some have made the argument that one should put the sleeve back onto his arm prior to Davening Musaf being that it is not common to stand that way in front of the king, nonetheless, practically many are not particular in this, and so was likewise the custom of the Rebbe to not be particular to enter the sleeve of his jacket back onto his arm prior to Musaf. Seemingly, since this has become accustomed as acceptable, therefore it is not considered as an inappropriate form of dress. Vetzaruch Iyun.
