- Even when they swear “As Hashem lives,” they swear falsely.
💔 Rebellion and Hardness of Heart
- Hashem’s eyes are upon faith, yet the people feel no pain when smitten, refuse correction, and make their faces harder than rock.
- The poor are foolish, not knowing Hashem’s way or judgment.
- Even the great ones, who should know Hashem’s way, have broken the yoke and burst the bands.
🦁 Consequences of Transgression
- Wild beasts—lion, wolf, leopard—will ravage cities due to many transgressions and increased backslidings.
- Hashem asks, “Shall I forgive you for this?” as the children forsake Him, swear by no-Hashems, commit adultery, and gather in the house of a harlot.
- Like armed stallions, they neigh over their friend’s wife.
⚖️ Divine Justice and Vengeance
- Hashem declares: “Shall I not punish for these things?” and “Shall My soul not wreak vengeance for such a nation?”
- Destruction is commanded, but not a complete end—roots are to be removed, for they are not Hashem’s.
