Ask the Rav:1) Eating Mezonos before Maariv 2) cutting hand and toenails on Friday and on Thursday night-Friday

May I eat a bowl of cereal or pasta prior to Davening Maariv if I do not have a set minyan that I Daven with?

 

Answer:

One may eat up until 55 grams of Mezonos foods prior to Davening Maariv even if he does not have a Shomer or set minyan that he Davens by. It is forbidden to him to eat more than this amount of Mezonos

May one cut both his hand and toenails on Erev Shabbos if he forgot to do so before hand?

 

Answer:

One should not do so. In such a case one should cut specifically his hand nails.

May one cut his toenails on Thursday night and his hand nails on Friday?

 

Answer:

This matter is under debate and hence is best to be avoided. Nonetheless, if one forgot to cut than earlier, then he may cut his toenails on Thursday night and his hand nails the next day.
