It is evident from a number of sources, that Moshiach will come from the Shalsheles of the kings of David.[1] However, most sources simply record that he comes from the seed of Shlomo, without delineating the exact lineage from him.[2] Some sources state that he comes from the descendant of Zerubavel Ben Shaltiel.[3] According to the Zohar, he comes from Nasan the son of Dovid and not Shlomo.[4] Accordingly, some rule that Moshiach can be from any descendent of Dovid.[5]
