Distinguishing Between Yemos HaMashiach and Techiyas HaMeisim

Question:
Are the eras of Yemos HaMashiach (the Days of the Messiah) and Techiyas HaMeisim (the Resurrection of the Dead) the same period?

Answer:
Although the term Yemos HaMashiach is sometimes loosely used to include the era of resurrection, in truth these are two distinct periods. The Days of the Messiah refer to the time preceding the resurrection, while the resurrection marks a subsequent phase.

The primary difference lies in the natural order of the world:

  • During the Days of the Messiah, life will continue according to the natural order, with the world functioning as it does now.
  • During the era of resurrection, the order will become supernatural, characterized by phenomena such as the absence of physical needs like eating and drinking.
