10. Festivities and Refreshments in honor of the celebration:[1]

It is a custom of Israel to mark the occasion of the Upsherinish with festivities and celebration. Some have the custom to serve an actual meal.[2] At the very least, pastries and L’Chayim’s should be served. After each individual cuts the hair of the child, he is offered to say Lechayim and partake in the refreshments. The individual then blesses the parents that they merit to bring the child Torah, Chuppah, and Maasim Tovim.

Farbrengen:[3] Some are accustomed for the father to hold a Farbrengen for the community on the occasion of the Upsherinish.
