Introduction:
The following chapter will discuss the laws of bathing and showering on Shabbos. There is a difference between hot and cold water, as well as to the amount of one’s body that is being bathed. At times it is Rabbinically forbidden and at times it is completely permitted, as will be explained.
Important note: In all cases mentioned that it is permitted to bathe in hot water heated from before Shabbos one must beware not to transgress the cooking prohibition through turning on the hot water faucet. See “The Laws of Cooking” Halacha 9 Q&A!
