1.      Understanding the Sefirot

  • It is permitted for Kabbalists to employ allegories and metaphors to elucidate the concept of the sefirot.
  • These sefirot are often described as “lights” in relation to the inherent unity of the Divine attributes.

2.      The Sun and Light Analogy

  • The unity of sunlight within the solar globe serves as an apt metaphor for the oneness of Divine attributes.
  • The rays and light that exist within the sun are considered a singular entity with the luminary itself, akin to the emanation and integration of Divine attributes.

3.      The Unity of G-d’s Attributes

  • Attributes such as will, wisdom, and emotive qualities emanate from the Divine Essence and are unified with it within the World of Atzilut.
  • This unity surpasses human understanding; however, allegorical representations provide a moderated framework for grasping this profound concept.

4.      Creation Through Divine Attributes

  • The sefirot function as “garments” that facilitate guidance for both the concealed and revealed realms. Creation and the sustenance of life are orchestrated through Divine expressions of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.

5.      Concealment of the Divine Life Force

  • The Divine attributes serve to veil the life force in order to ensure that created beings are not overwhelmed by direct perception of it.
  • This concealment is integral to the existence of the world, enabling it to endure without being fully exposed to the infinite essence of the Divine.
