If there is only one doorpost:[1]
Doorpost on right side: If there is a doorpost only on the right side of the entrance, while by the left side there is no doorpost and the left wall simply continues past the area where the right doorpost is horizontally aligned to [see exhibit a], it is disputed as to whether the right doorpost requires a Mezuzah in such a scenario.[2] Practically, one is to place a Mezuzah on the right doorpost without a blessing.[3]
Doorpost on left:[4] If there is a doorpost only on the left side, while by the right side there is no doorpost and the right wall simply continues past the area where the left doorpost is horizontally aligned to [see exhibit a], a Mezuzah is not required.[

[2] Some Poskim rule a Mezuzah is required to be placed in such a scenario, as the Torah states Mezuzos twice to teach us that even one doorpost suffices. [Rebbe Meir in Menachos 34; Rosh Mezuzah 15; Tur] Other Poskim however rule that a Mezuzah is not required if one does not have two doorposts, as the Torah says Mezuzos in plural, which means two doorposts. Other opinions: Some write that even in such a case one is to place a Mezuzah without a blessing. [See Beir Heiytiv 287/1; Ben Ish Chaiy Ki Savo 12]
