Humility banishes the evil inclination and uncontrollable lusts:[1]
All the sins of food, drink, and sexual in nature, come as a result of the corporeal mass contained within the body. [This means that the greater one emphasizes and feels his sense of self, his greatness, and importance, the greater will be his lusts and desires for forbidden matters.] However, when man views himself as nothing [i.e. as unworthy, humble, and unbefitting of greatness and importance] then he separates himself from sins, and does complete Teshuvah.
