The practical laws of trapping creatures on Yom Tov follow the same laws as Shabbos. All animals that require further trapping are forbidden to be trapped on Yom Tov, just as is the law on Shabbos.[1] Animals that are already trapped, are permitted to be taken on Yom Tov if one plans to eat them on Yom Tov, and they were on one’s mind to do so from before Yom Tov.
