1. Restoration of the Soul
After one’s spirit is purified, one’s soul can return to God, ascending higher and reconnecting with its divine source much as it was before being sent into the physical world.
2. The Process of Complete Repentance
True repentance enables this reconnection and is considered a state of spiritual unity, restoring the soul to a perfect closeness with the Divine.
3. The Higher Level of Repentance (Teshuvah Ilah)
This elevated form of repentance follows the lower repentance. As explained in the Zohar, it involves engaging with Torah study and divine love and awe.
4. Superiority of Penitents
Those who return through sincere repentance achieve an even greater closeness to God than the perfectly righteous, as their heartfelt yearning draws them nearer with even greater strength.
