- Abolishing the Baal, but not the calves of Yeravam: Yeihu abolished the Baal from the land of Israel. However, he was not perfectly righteous, as Yeihu did not swerve from the sins of Yeravam the son of Nevat, and the sins that he caused the nation of Israel to commit with the golden calves that were in Beis El and that were in Dan.
- Hashem rewards Yeihu for doing his bidding: Hashem said to Yeihu [through a prophet[1]], “In reward for you listening to Me and decimating the house of Achav as I desired, your descendants will occupy the throne of Israel for four generations.”
- His sins: Yeihu did not wholeheartedly abide by the rules of the Torah of Hashem. He did not abandon the sins of Yeravam, with which he caused Israel to sin.
- The attacks by Chazael: In those days, Hashem began getting disgusted with His nation Israel, and Chazael attacked the Jewish people throughout all the borders of Israel. The attacks took place from the east side of the Jordan, and in the entire land of Gilead, and in the lands of Gad, Reuvein, and Menashe, from the land of Aroer which is by the Arnon River until the land of the Gilead and the Bashan.
- His legacy: The acts of Yeihu and all that he accomplished, are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
- His death: Yeihu died and was buried in Shomron together with his ancestors.
- His successor: Yehoachaz, the son of Yeihu, reigned in his stead.
- His years of reign: Yeihu reigned over Israel in Shomron for twenty-eight years.
