Lighting a candle:[1] [Shulchan Aruch]

It is customary to light a candle at the time of the Bris Mila. [Some are accustomed to light a candle near the child starting right after the birth of a boy in order to protect them from Mazikin. This applies especially the night before the Bris.[2]]
