🕯️ במדבר סיני – The Sending of the Twelve Spies
In the journey through the wilderness, Moshe Rabbeinu sent the twelve spies to explore Eretz Yisrael. At the time they were sent, all were upright and righteous, chosen as leaders of the tribes. Their mission was to observe the Land and return with a report. However, upon their return shortly before Tisha B’Av, their negative report led the people to lose faith in the promise of Hashem. This event ultimately resulted in severe consequences, including the decree of wandering in the wilderness. The early state of the spies—being worthy and proper—serves as a powerful lesson about how even great individuals must remain vigilant, and how a moment of failure can have lasting repercussions.
