Recent Q&A

May a Kohen enter the memorial area of the Nova festival where the massacre took place?

No. A Kohen should not enter the area due to chance of remains being present within the fields and brushes that have yet to be found and collected. The Kohen however may walk by the highway or other pavement [i.e. sidewalk].

Directive which I received from Rav Yaakov Roza, Head of Chevra Kadisha in Israel.

May a Kohen enter the yishuvin of Otef Aza, such Be’eri, where the massacres took place?

A Kohen should not enter the field or houses due to chance of remains being present within the fields and brushes that have yet to be found and collected. The Kohen however may walk by the street or other pavement [i.e. sidewalk].

Directive I received from Rav Yaakov Roza, Head of Chevra Kadisha in Israel.
