May one place foods in the freezer on Shabbos in order to preserve the food to eat it on a different date?[1]

Yes, one may do so, in order to prevent loss of the food. It is best to do so as soon as one removes the food from its surface in order to clean the table or counter, rather than first place it into the fridge and then freezer.
