  1. “David Made a Name”
  • The Zohar explains that David “made a name” through his constant practice of justice and tzedakah.
  • Rabbi Shimon teaches:

Who establishes and strengthens Hashem’s Holy Name each day? One who gives tzedakah to the poor.

  • Tzedakah is not merely kindness; it has a profound spiritual effect in the Divine realms.

  1. The Two Letters that Created the Worlds
  • The Sages teach:
    • This world was created with the letter ×” (Hei).
    • The World to Come was created with the letter ×™ (Yud).
  • These letters represent different levels of Divine revelation.

  1. The Pleasure of the World to Come
  • The delight of the righteous in Gan Eden comes from:
    • Understanding
    • Perceiving
    • Grasping Divine light
  • Each soul enjoys Divine revelation according to its spiritual level and deeds.
  1. Why the World to Come Is Associated with Binah
  • The Zohar calls the World to Come Binah (Understanding).
  • In Gan Eden, souls experience a revelation that can be comprehended and appreciated through spiritual understanding.

  1. Chochmah: The Hidden Source
  • Above Binah is Chochmah (Wisdom).
  • Chochmah is the hidden flash of insight before it becomes understood.
  • It is represented by the letter Yud, a simple point.
  • The Zohar calls it:

“A point within a palace.”

  1. Eden: Beyond Comprehension
  • Chochmah is also called Eden.
  • About Eden the verse says:

“No eye has seen it.”

  • It is a level beyond ordinary spiritual perception.

  1. “Father Founded the Daughter”
  • The phrase “Abba yasad brata” means that Chochmah (the Father) is the source of Malchut and speech (the Daughter).
  • The Alter Rebbe begins explaining how speech emerges from a hidden level beyond conscious intellect.

  1. Speech Comes From a Deeper Source Than Intellect
  • When a person speaks, they do not consciously calculate the movements of their lips, tongue, and mouth.
  • The soul simply desires to express a particular letter or sound, and the organs move automatically.

  1. The Example of Letters and Vowels
  • The sounds of language are not produced through deliberate intellectual control.
  • For example:
    • When a person wants to pronounce a specific vowel, the mouth naturally forms the required shape.
  • The desire for expression precedes conscious awareness of the mechanics.

  1. Hidden Wisdom Is the Source of Speech
  • The ability to form words comes from a deeper level of the soul than revealed understanding.
  • Speech emerges from the hidden root of intellect (Chochmah) before ideas become fully developed in Binah.
