Turning evil decrees to good:[1]
A prophet, as well as dream intreperter, has ability to turn evil to good. They can sweeten the evil edict seen in the prophecy and turn it into a good tiding. This is why Yermiya was punished by being thrown into a pit[2], as he had ability to pray on behalf of the Jewish people and sweeten the Divine judgment. This is in contrast to Yeshayahu, who in truth did bring salvation to the Jewish people. On this the verse states “Sur Meira Vasei Tov.”
