Immersing a Toaster in a Mikveh

Must a toaster be immersed?

Some Poskim[1] rule a toaster does not need to be immersed.[2] Other Poskim[3] however rule it is obligated in immersion with a blessing. [One should immerse the toaster in the Mikveh and not use it until it dries from the water. Usually, it suffices to wait 24 hours, if the toaster is placed out in the sun. Alternatively, one can have a professional take the toaster apart and then reassemble it.]

[1] Igros Moshe 3/24; Rivivos Efraim 4/405; Some Rabbanim rule that all electrical appliances are exempt from immersion. This however is not the consensus of Poskim.

[2] The reason: As it is not a table vessel [Klei Seuda] and is not a true cooking vessel being the bread is already edible prior to the toasting. [Igros Moshe ibid]
